Bouayach Reveals Details of the National Human Rights Council’s Involvement in “Fnideq Events”

As the National Human Rights Council (CNDH) steps into the ongoing “Fnideq Events” investigation, urging potential victims to come forward for testimony, the Council’s President, Amina Bouayach, disclosed that her specialized team has uncovered both accurate and misleading information regarding the situation.

In a statement to Hespress, Bouayach said: “There is information that has been thoroughly verified by the CNDH’s monitoring team. Through this ongoing process, which is still underway due to new public calls for border crossings circulating on social media. CNDH’s monitoring team have identified that some details were false and misleading, while others were accurate.

She further emphasized that this situation represents a new challenge, noting that the nature of illegal migration has shifted to a more public discourse on social media. This change has compelled the Council to adopt new mechanisms to fulfill its role in human rights protection and provide support to potential victims.
